Connecting Ohio's
residents
Every second, approximately five
Ohioans ride public transportation. This means Ohioans step onto
a publicly funded van, bus or train over 146 million times each
year, reducing congestion and fuel consumption and helping to
keep Ohio's environment clean.
Serving a vital role. Ohio is
projecting a 14.2 percent growth in those aged 65 and older by
2015, which means that demand for public transportation will
only increase.
Fighting gridlock. Existing
highways are either at or exceed capacity. Buses and trains
increase people-moving capacity without the expense of building
new highways and paving over landscapes.
